Construction companies, developers, specialist contractors and project teams are being encouraged to showcase their work as entries open for the KPMG Irish Independent Property Industry Excellence Awards 2026.
Now in their 11th year, the awards recognise achievement across Ireland’s property and construction sector, celebrating projects, organisations and professionals delivering commercial, residential, industrial and critical infrastructure developments throughout the island of Ireland.
Launching this year’s programme, Carmel Logan, Partner and Head of Real Estate at KPMG Ireland, said the awards reflect the resilience and ambition of an industry that continues to play a central role in delivering housing, infrastructure and economic growth.
For the construction sector, the awards provide an opportunity to demonstrate excellence in project delivery, innovation, collaboration and the successful completion of schemes that are shaping Ireland’s built environment.
One of the most significant additions to this year’s programme is the introduction of a dedicated Subcontractor Award, recognising the contribution of specialist contractors and SMEs working across property and construction projects. The new category acknowledges the increasingly important role played by specialist supply chain partners in delivering complex developments and critical infrastructure.
Completed developments of every scale are eligible for the Construction Project Award, which is open to projects delivered anywhere on the island of Ireland across all sectors. Judges will consider projects ranging from residential and commercial developments to industrial, mixed-use and infrastructure schemes.
Construction teams may also be eligible across several other categories, including the Housing Award, recognising projects helping to address Ireland’s housing requirements across public, private, cooperative and social housing delivery, together with the Developer Award, Architecture Award, Placemaking & Planning Award and PropTech Award.
The 2026 programme comprises ten categories covering the full property lifecycle:
- Construction Project Award
- Developer Award
- Subcontractor Award (new for 2026)
- Architecture Award
- Placemaking & Planning Award
- Agency of the Year
- PropTech Award
- Real Estate Investment & Asset Management Award
- Rising Star Award
- Housing Award
The awards continue to operate under an independent judging model. Commercial sponsorship of individual categories is not permitted, with organisers stating that the policy is designed to protect the integrity of the judging process and ensure winners are selected solely on merit.
Entries will be assessed by an independent judging panel representing planning, architecture, construction, engineering, finance, technology, advisory, academia and the public sector. New judges joining the panel for 2026 include Tomás Kelly, President of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland; David Howard, Director of Property Industry Ireland; Meabh Smith, Communications Director of the Construction Industry Federation; and Kay Maguire, President of the Institute of Professional Auctioneers and Valuers.
Organisers are encouraging project teams to submit completed developments that demonstrate quality, collaboration, innovation and measurable impact across Ireland’s built environment.
Full entry information, eligibility criteria and submission guidance is available at propertyexcellenceawards.com.
The winners will be announced at the KPMG Irish Independent Property Industry Excellence Awards gala on Thursday, 5 November 2026, at the Clayton Hotel Burlington Road, Dublin, where more than 1,000 property and construction professionals are expected to attend.
