Reddy A+U Secures Enterprise Ireland Funding for Industrialised Construction Platform
Investment will support a cloud-based design and delivery platform aimed at standardising building components, automating design processes and improving the scalability of housing and other building delivery

Reddy Architecture + Urbanism has secured funding from Enterprise Ireland to advance its Industrialised Design + Construction capability, including the development of a new cloud-based digital platform for the design and delivery of buildings.
The Enterprise Ireland support forms part of a wider investment by Reddy A+U in digital process innovation and workforce development, with the practice seeking to move beyond traditional project-by-project Building Information Modelling towards a more standardised and repeatable approach to design and construction.
At the centre of the programme will be a cloud-based digital design and delivery platform intended to enable faster, more consistent and scalable delivery through reusable building components, automated checking and intelligent design workflows.
The approach will involve developing and verifying repeatable building components, assemblies and residential typologies that can then be configured for use across multiple projects.
Reddy A+U said the programme is based around the principle of “shifting left”, with decisions on areas including compliance, constructability, procurement, manufacturing, sustainability and technical delivery brought forward in the design process.
Pat Kirwan, Head of Industrialised Design & Construction at Reddy A+U, said the construction sector had made significant progress in BIM and digital design, but much of the underlying process continued to involve creating and validating information separately for individual projects.
“Our ambition with Industrialised Design + Construction is to change that model,” he said.
“We want to capture what we know, standardise what can be standardised and automate repetitive processes, allowing our architects and designers to concentrate more of their time on design, problem-solving and delivering better outcomes for our clients.
“This support from Enterprise Ireland gives us the opportunity to make a significant step forward in developing that capability and, importantly, to validate it through real projects.”
The investment will also support a training programme across Reddy A+U focused on developing the digital, technical, management and process-improvement skills required to embed the new approach throughout the group.
The practice said its industrialised approach is not intended to result in identical buildings but instead draws on processes used in sectors such as automotive and advanced manufacturing, where established systems, components and data can be reused across different products.
“This is not about producing identical buildings or removing design from the process,” Mr Kirwan said.
“It is about learning from industries such as automotive and advanced manufacturing, where proven systems, components and data are reused intelligently rather than recreated for every product.
“If we can apply that thinking appropriately to construction, we can reduce repetitive work, identify compliance and coordination issues earlier and create a much stronger connection between design, procurement, manufacturing and construction.”
The programme will also seek to establish a methodology and digital capability that can be scaled across Reddy A+U’s operations.
The company intends to develop the capability as an export-ready Irish professional services offering, supporting its continued growth in Ireland, the UK and international markets.
Mr Kirwan said the ultimate objective was “better buildings, delivered with greater certainty and through a more productive design and construction process”.
